Field Trip with Friends...

We love visiting this place! We got a membership for the year. Today we met up with friends and hung out for a couple hours. (my friend is a single adoptive mom too, so we love to chat)

Lots of coffee was consumed by this momma.

My kids thought it would be cool to wear shorts and flip flops... instead of cool, they were cold!

Nesiah was bored. She did not enjoy this field trip!

There are all sorts of fun activities. Rolling balls show how gravity works.

Ping pong balls and blowing air... the boys liked this one!

Working together to add some extra omph!

David lets the ball spin around and around....

The mommas hung out and chatted while supervising! The thing we love about this place, is the open space. It is an easy place to sit, relax and watch the kids while chatting. The kids love it too! Its a win win situation. Today was pretty packed tho. Normally we can go in and only see one or two other moms. Today there was a constant stream of people.

The weird thing in our day... There was this father with his son. Dad was wearing a bandana, skull jacket, all black clothes, very cleaned up, but long pony tail and wait.... for it.... a huge knife in a sheath.
The kiddoe was like 4 yrs old. He was wearing baggy pants, a skull shirt, had a long pony tail and was wearing a bandanna.  The son got into a tussle with mine over a toy. I warned my son to NOT MESS WITH THAT KID, HIS DAD IS SCARY! ;)  My son just rolled his eyes at me.
Then 10 minutes later he comes over, eyes big, MOM, THAT MAN HAS A HUGE KNIFE!!!!
My friend leaned over and whispered... "that's why your mom said to stay away from the kiddoe"!  My kiddoes made sure to stay far away from that kiddoe after that! But really, why a knife in a kid place?!

A Little of This and That!

Life seems to be slowing down a bit. Less Drama! PTL!! Less appointments for everyone. The school year is wrapping up nicely. Spring is FINALLY coming! We have lots of odd little projects scattered here and there through out our life. Tidbits that reflect our personalities and lifestyle.

Fayth earned this little fashionette set... She is my princessy girl in the midst of tomboys and boys. Poor child.

I find little slips of papers all over my house, tidbits of drawings she did with this set. She had fun taking pictures for me!

She dreams of having long blond hair...

Gardening... Elizabeth worked incredibly hard on preparing the garden for plants. She hoed and pulled weeds for hours, willingly. She loves digging in the dirt in her barefeet. She is def her momma's daughter!

We planted broccoli, cauliflower, and romaine lettuce.

We covered them carefully to protect them from cold nights. Now we pray the chickens don't get out!

AHHH green sprouts! Spring is coming! Spring is coming! We are excited!

Another Cash Project

Last Saturday the kids begged for cash projects... The basement was an absolute mess, walls needed cleaned, counters needed wiped, toys sorted, closet cleaned out, and floors vacuumed! I offered the job up for $5 a person. I had three takers! This project was HUGE and messy!

There was lots of vacuuming and picking up. There was wall scrubbing and tears.

This kiddoe worked hard and did some serious clean up! But as usual, he made work fun!

The end is near! The end is near!

Then the vacuum broke and needed fixing!

The toy kitchen needed a good scrubbing...

David neatly organized all the bears in the corner beside the dollhouse!

And it is all clean!! It took a lot of encouragement and a good bit of scrubbing and help from mom to finish this project! But it got done and now our basement is ready for playtime!

Our basement is the perfect play area. Sadly tho, the kids will not play down there unless I am down with them. So often our toys and fun are drug upstairs!

The basement is also our "mudroom", so it is often quite messy!
